Change in Wisconsin

Currently in Wisconsin, the mood towards other modes of transportation, along with shortening commute times, de-congesting roadways, and just making Southeast Wisconsin a safer more breathable place to live and work are finally back on the governments radar. Some say that their renewed interest is too little too late.
  • Recent attacks on commuter and high speed rail were products of political agendas, and are now being seen as mistakes as Wisconsin re-applies for high speed rail stimulus money that our state originally rejected from the Federal Government.
  • WisDOT has put in place a proposed plan for commuter rail by 2030, which could feed into this project.
  • The rapid growth and planning in Minnesota to expand its commuter rial lines and its plans to add high speed rail linking Wisconsin and/or Illinois to Minneapolis and St. Paul.
  • In Milwaukee, plans are moving forward on a pilot streetcar program that will add a new and greatly needed mode of transportation to downtown Milwaukee.

Making Life Easier

Other then the creation of a commuter link between Milwaukee, Racine, Kenosha, and even Chicago this new way of getting around will cut commute times, save you money spent on gas, and lower green house gas emissions caused by cars.

"There's and App for that"

Keeping up with technology, and the need to stay up-to-date on travel/commutes, LSCR will partner up with Smart Ride using their free app to help commuters know exactly when the next train will drive and seamlessly integrate itself with the other transportation updates with MCTS and The Milwaukee Street Car
